Mar 13, 18 -- OmShera Hotel Group is developing a hotel at the 188-acre Rea Farms mixed-use development, located off I-485 in South Charlotte. OmShera acquired the land for the hotel in December after Rea Farms developer Lincoln Harris received city approval to relocate the hotel from the center of site to the main access road. The hotel is planned as a Hyatt House with around 135 guest rooms. Read more...

Mar 8, 18 -- HCW Development is planning a Tru by Hilton hotel just north of the SanTan Village outdoor shopping mall. In December, the Glibert Planning Commission approved a conceptual master plan for the hotel. HCW recently opened a TownePlace Suites in Chandler, is building a Residence Inn also in Chandler and is planning an Aloft in Glendale, Ariz. Read more...

On January 22, the Village of Lombard Planning Commission recommended Planned Development approval for the hotel. The project will go before the Lombard Village Board for final approval in February. A pre-submittal application is scheduled to go before the Sarasota County Development Review Committee on January 18. Jan 9, 18 -- Nashville-based Athena Hospitality Group is developing a Holiday Inn Express hotel near the Cincinnati Airport. Nov 29, 17 -- Rahil Sanghvi is planning a hotel on a vacant site at the I-95/I-595 interchange just west of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Sanghvi acquired the 1.6-acre site in June of this year and is now in the process of seeking a plat note amendment to allow hotel use on the property. The hotel would have 125 guest rooms.

Nov 15, 17 -- AD1 Global is planning a Tru by Hilton hotel about a mile south of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. On October 24, the Dania Beach City Commission conditionally approved a site plan and design variations for the hotel. Oct 11, 17 -- Builder and real estate investor Terence Cheng filed plans last week for a 20-story hotel on a Lexington Avenue parcel near Grand Central Terminal. The 1,610 square-foot site is currently occupied by a three-story commercial/residential building. A partnership managed by Cheng has owned the property for more than a decade. Aug 25, 17 -- Dakota Legacy Group is planning a dual-brand Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites hotel near the Flatiron Crossing mall north of Denver. Concept plans were submitted to the City of Broomfield earlier this year and city staff anticipates a formal submittal in the coming days. The site is owned by an affiliate Dakota Legacy Group founder Gary Tharaldson. The franchise is held by Kerry W. Boekelheide of KWB Hotel Partners but the plans were submitted by Dakota Legacy Group. Oak Lawn/Uptown Hotel

Apr 24, 17 -- Dallas-based Alamo Manhattan Properties is planning a 220-room hotel in the Oak Lawn neighborhood. On April 4, the Dallas City Plan Commission granted Planned Development Subdistrict approval for the project.

The intended site comprises three quarters of an acre and is currently developed with a 13-unit condominium complex and a single family home. The single-family property and one of the condo units are owned by Greenway Investment Co., an affiliate of Alamo Manhattan Properties. The developer intends to purchase the remaining condo units from individual owners. Read more...
