Pritzker Hires Kimpton’s Leondakis as Commune Hotels CEO

Pritzker, co-chairman of New York-based Commune, wants Leondakis, 51, to help the closely held company reach its goal of $1 billion in revenue, he said in an interview this week. Commune, which has 46 properties in its portfolio, wants to reach that goal within five years, Pritzker said in February. Leondakis, Kimpton’s president, has also served as chief operating officer for the San Francisco-based company. She’ll start at Commune on Nov. 26, Pritzker said.

Marriott Wins Ruling Against Miami Beach Hotel Owners

New York State Supreme Court Justice Melvin L. Schweitzer in Manhattan on Oct. 26 granted Bethesda, Maryland-based Marriott’s request for a preliminary injunction preventing the owners of the Eden Roc from taking any actions to remove or replace the company as manager of the hotel, and urged the two sides to resolve the case, according to court filings dated today and yesterday.

Petra Capital Management LLC, will retain ownership of the 443-room hotel under a reorganization plan confirmed by a bankruptcy judge Monday. The hotel investor, Bethesda, Md.-based DiamondRock Hospitality Co., had wanted to seize the property at 701 N. Michigan Ave., but agreed as part of a settlement with Petra to drop a foreclosure suit it filed in April 2010.
